New Gerard song (and hair photos)Gerard released a song called "Action Cat" on his Youtube channel, which you can listen to here. You can download it for free if you sign up for his mailing list here.
What do you think? I'm in love with it. It has sort of an indie vibe, and it just screams "Gerard": a punchy alternative rock sound, but with added mellowness. Ugh, hearing the guys' solo music is so exciting. Someone should mash this up with "I Lied."
We also have new pictures of Gerard's hair (apparently it's pale yellow, not orange like I originally thought):

A Killjoy Christmas Poem
‘Twas the night before Christmas, and in the first Zone,
A little red Killjoy was headed for home.
His sled was a Trans Am with sand-crusted tires,
And a sleek gleaming hood with a spindly spider.
The windows were down, and the radio blared,
And a chill winter wind whipped the frost through his hair.
The Trans slightly swerved on the ice-covered road,
Leaving slushy brown tracks in the powdery snow.
In the trunk of the car sat a small leather bag,
Covered in stitches, old patches, and tags.
Heavy lumps shifted beneath the worn leather,
Clanking and chilling in the icy cold weather.
Inside the dark kitchen, with a rusty steel grill,
Kobra curled up on a mattress to ward off the chill.
With a glowing orange heater that hummed on the floor,
And a heavy blue blanket that warmed him to the core.
Ghoul was sprawled out in the cramped storage room,
Squeezed in with the buckets, the towels, and brooms.
His mouth hung wide open, and he let out a snore,
Mikey finally tells his side of the story...aaaand, there was no cheating involved. You can read his tweet here: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rrjs19
Now that the air has cleared a bit, I feel like there's a lot of subjects that I need to clarify. As I've said before, my relationship with Sarah had absolutely nothing to do with the band breaking up. The band had dissolved prior to me and her ever being together, but it wasn't announced until much later. Secondly, the infamous Tumblr post that circulated the Internet was full of fudged facts in an attempt to embarrass Sarah and I. It was full of slanderous and untrue statements in an attempt to make a "good news story". In fact, much of it was directed at a person other than Sarah. It was blatantly made by a friend of my ex who did everything in their power to make us look like we were "horrible people". The fact that the post was magically deleted proves that the person knew I would find out their identity, and they would have faced serious consequences. Sarah and I di
Discussion: My Chemical BromanceI do a double take when I hear about some band having a nasty fight, like when Scott Weiland was fired from Stone Temple Pilots, or when Oasis kicked Noel Gallagher out and formed a whole new band called Beady Eye. So many bands seem to merely tolerate each other, and publicly criticize each other or get into fights at the drop of a hat. I think I’ve been spoiled with MCR, because they get along so well that it seems weird when I hear about a band that doesn’t.
The Way brothers’ relationship in particular is pretty special. We’ve all heard the story of the popular, successful older brother and his quiet, unassuming younger sibling who spent his life living in his shadow. The Way brothers are like that: Gerard’s seen as the beloved lead vocalist with lots of artistic talent, inspirational quotes and speeches, a heartbreaking story of addiction and recovery, and a vibrant personality. Mikey’s seen as the quiet guy in the background with moderate skills
Frank and Pete comment on the break-upFrank blogged about the break-up on his site: http://www.frank-iero.com/ And Pete Wentz talked about it an interview: http://destroyanews.wordpress.com/2013/03/29/pete-wentz-talks-about-the-breakdown-of-my-chemical-romance/
Neither of them say much that we didn't already know, but it's still interesting.
Gerard actually posted an address for fans to send him mail: http://www.altpress.com/news/entry/gerard_way_my_chemical_romance_posts_fan_mail_address_reflects_on_mcr_album Wonder how many fans are going to disregard the "don't make it weird" rule...
Also, Gerard, Frank, and Ray are apparently working with James Dewees on his new album: http://www.kerrang.com/blog/2013/03/three_members_of_mcr_linked_to.html
And Christopher Gutierrez (one of Mikey's friends) made a good Tumblr post that I think fans will appreciate: http://deadxstop.tumblr.com/post/46089580615/thank-you-friends
Finally, you've probably noticed this already, but Mikey's been tweeting again. Good for him.
Re: StacksSome of you might remember when I took MCR lyrics and added photos to them (here and here.) Since then I've had a bunch of journals sitting in my drafts, where I took a song and paired it with great photography from around dA. Since winter is approaching, I thought I'd start with this one: winter photography paired with Re: Stacks by Bon Iver. Make sure you listen to the song while viewing to get the full effect. Enjoy
MCR officially breaks up + Long essay from meMost of you know this already, but they posted this short blog on their website: http://www.mychemicalromance.com/blog/mcr/my-chemical-romance
Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.
My Chemical Romance
Right now I can't believe it's real. It feels like a dream. What upsets me most isn't the loss of new music: I still like MCR, but they haven't been my favorite band for a long time. I'm not sure what happened, I guess I just "grew out" of the music and started listening to other things.
But I was still very invested in the guys and their lives, as well as the fandom here, and-- as silly as this sounds-- i
Interview with princebelial (Tumblr artist)princebelial has done only one piece of MCR fan art so far...but it was so good that I had to request an interview. And I’m glad that I did, because this is one of the best interviews I’ve ever received. She provides a detailed discussion about the symbolism in her Party Poison painting, as well as lengthy, well-thought-out responses to the questions about her work in general. If you want to see how much depth and meaning can be packed into a single drawing, read on.
1. Your Party Poison painting is not only well-drawn, it has intriguing details. Is there a meaning behind the flower crown, the position of his hand, the almost saintlike pose, the peaceful expression, etc.? What does each detail symbolize, if
News on Gerard and Ray + and MikeyEdit: There's some news on Mikey after all: according to this article, he's performing backing vocals on one of Gerard's songs. Wow, a duet (kind of) with the Way brothers. Am I dreaming?
Gerard won two Kerrang awards: Hero and (I've heard) Best Twitter. He also did an interview with BBC radio. You can listen to a clip here about the break-up and his upcoming music, and download the whole interview at the link provided. He also posted some selfies, including this gem:
There's also a new interview with Ray at
Gerard addresses negative fan reactions + EditEdit: Gerard posted a letter about it an hour ago: https://twitter.com/gerardway/status/451766014389547008 I'm not entirely sure I understand it, but I think he means he's going to reduce fan interaction, stop following them for now, and keep talk about MCR to a minimum? I'm glad that he acknowledged the positive fans and showed that he appreciates them, but this whole situation makes me sad. Damn. He shouldn't have to do any of this. :/
I thought this was worth a blog post, because it's attracted a lot of attention and opinions. Personally, I'm happy about it, but I'm interested in hearing what the fandom here thinks. This morning, Gerard informed us on Twitter that he was going to remove mychemicalromance.com from his Twitter bio, and that the MCROfficial Twitter would be taken down. He asked everyone to be respectful, but according to this blog post, that's not what happened. >_> So that prompted the following string of tweets
Your thoughts on Gerard's new lyrics?Gerard tweeted some intriguing new song lyrics:
"So I'll just put them here-
This is a song about a group of jewel thieves.
Everything is fine,
then everything goes horribly wrong.
You twist my arm
I’m twisting fate
You’ll leave alone, or crazy great
Or break into a million pieces, all your reasons
Lets live alone
And out of state
Lets make up everything and wake up breathing
Don’t give a damn about the wreck you leave in
You can use my friends, but that depends-
On what their for
And while we’re laying on the floor
My mouth is sore
I’m keeping score
A million reasons but I need a million more
You believe in love
I believe in faith
They’ll believe in anything, you make up villains
A trillion legions of the damned and William,
It was really me
It was really you
There was really nothing I could do
Lets use our magic powers with the children
My Watercolor RomanceA while ago I did a feature on traditional paintings. While going through the group's Featured folder, I found a lot of amazing MCR paintings that I had to share. This might take a while to load, but I had to use large thumbnails because that's the only way you can really appreciate the beautiful details and textures. Enjoy.

Stalking vs. Normal Fan BehaviorMy Chemical Romance, as far back as I can remember, has never had a normal fan base. The fans have always had a certain passion and drive for the band that many other bands cannot replicate and arouse in their own fans. This devotion has led to good developments within the fan base with such projects like #Sing it for Japan, a music video driven by mostly fan made creations. Yet amidst all of this are some controversial acts of devotion that have sparked a split within much of the fan base in what is right or wrong.
The controversial behavior in question started to appear more frequently during the band’s Black Parade Tour in 2007. Video footage of fans stalking them to their hotel is all over YouTube: fans screaming for them to sign things well into the night. It should come to no surprise though. My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade had sold 1,169,697 copies in the U.S alone by August 25, 2007. It was certified as 2X Platinum in the UK. By 2010, in t
Tips on Recognizing Smudged/Traced ArtTips on Spotting Fake Drawings | Samples of Fake Art | Commonly Stolen Artwork
Rather than take the time to learn how to draw, some people take a photo, smudge it in Photoshop or add a filter, and call it a drawing. It's a ploy for attention, and sadly, it usually works. Photos smudged in a couple of minutes often get more attention than original fanart that artists spent hours on. I've seen people feature them in their journals. I've even had people request that I interview a smudger for the group. We can't keep people from smudging photos, but we can stop giving them attention. Here are some tips to help you identify a fake drawing.
If you're unclear on the difference between referencing and tracing, here's a good post from artist-confessions on Tumblr: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9yti2wELq1r7ogo4o1_1280.jpg

Got some free time this summer? Here's some great reading recommended by group members.
Recommended by KatyChemical:
The Catcher In The Rye by J. D. Salinger
People either love it or hate it but it's definitely my favorite book. I really relate to Holden in so many ways. He has a sort of depressing outlook on life, but I find it really insightful and really relatable. I think a lot of fans of My Chem would appreciate it and as a fun fact Frank Iero has mentioned relating to the character and his old band Pency Prep was named after it.
Black Hole by Charles Burns
One of my favorite graphic novels ever. The artwork is incredible, and the story is interesting. It takes place in the 70's and there's this weird STD going around that makes teens get monster-like mutations (scales...tales...horns on their head. It has a different effect on everyone). But note that it does have sexual themes
31 MCR-Related Journal Entries
Summer is coming up, and now that you'll (hopefully) have some time to yourself, it's a great time to polish your writing skills. A good way to start is keeping a journal. Here are 31 MCR-related journal entries, one for each day of the month. Instead of the usual "fave song, fave member" prompts, I tried to make them a little interesting. If you actually do this, feel free to post them on DeviantART, Tumblr, etc. (If you want to print this, you can copy and paste it into a Word document and print it from there.)
1. Wow, some interviewers ask awful questions. It's your turn to ask what you really want to know. Imagine that you're interviewing one (or more) of the guys. What do you ask him? How do you think he'd respond?
2. Well, you've done it-- you've discovered the answer to one of the biggest mysteries about the band. What mystery did you solve, and what's the long-awaited answer?
3. An insider gives you one of t
Traditional PaintingsI feel like sometimes we focus too much on the cutesy, polished stuff on DA's front page and don't see the less popular but far more powerful artwork. Traditional art offers so much depth and subtlety. Here are some of my favorite paintings. Enjoy the rich colors and textures.

GERAAARD!!*runs around**trips and falls*(again)AHHHHHH OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOOOOOOOOOD
Oh my, Gerard...!
So. The wonderful, beautiful, amazing, perfect Mr Way has basically announced his solo album.
Okay. Right. Thought's in order here. Hold on. Give me a second.
I haven't stopped grinning since last night
Right, so, Gerard was at an event called Graphic yesterday, in Australia, and he talked about a lot of things.
One of these things being that he has completed his album, and he's really happy with it.
He also played a recording of the song, Millions (which he had posted the lyrics for on twitter previously)
Here's a (very quiet, but if you listen closely, you can hear it) recording of the song - http://www.mediafire.com/listen/0rvb06gn143c24b/Millions-+Gerard+Way.m4a

Interview + Great Twitter post about GerardA longer version of an old interview with Gerard, Becky, and Shaun: http://mychemicalcollective.tumblr.com/post/54504602363/artisan-news-has-posted-part-of-a-longer-version
I reblogged this on the group Tumblr, but if you didn't see it, here it is: http://gwaypositivity.tumblr.com/post/54278416561/i-dont-care-if-this-post-is-a-bit-long-i-feel Personally, I think everyone in fandom should read this. It's an excellent long Twitter post about how Gerard reacts to fans on Twitter, and the way they treat him and his family.
Wow, am I glad that he blocks the vile little Mikey-haters. It pisses me off when I see some Gerard fangirl spew hate at Mikey on Twitter, then turn around and act sweet and innocent to his brother. Yeah, I'm sure Gerard's really impressed when he sees his fans harass his family. You're entitled to your opinion, but if you adore him so much, show him and his family some respect. (Seriously, what do they think he's going to think? "OMG ur so right, thank u for enlightenin
Some things we need to be clear onohmygod I'm writing a blog entry k here goes nothing.
The points I would like to address tonight go as follows:
- The sources information is gathered from and how accurate they are
- The homage paid to Destiel
- Reasons why Destiel may not be taken seriously until it actually happens
So here goes nothing
Sources and their credibility
Honestly? No source is fully accurate. None. Not from the CW network, not from the cast and crew on twitter - nothing. Why? Because in the writing universe, which applies to TV shows as well - anything can go any which way and not even cast will know it. Ask any novel writer how many times they have changed the course of their story after saying it will go one way, and laughing their way to the world of writing as their readers were left asking what the flying fuck just happened. Basically what I'm saying is that, unless a friggen producer of the show says THE THING IS CERTAINLY GOING TO HAPPEN WE PROMISE, don't trust anything they or the cas
Something Fun!I realized that it's been over two years since I began drawing for the Avengers fandom...More specifically Thor and Loki, and so I decided to make a little doddle at 3am of my favorite scene from the Movie u w u ) enjoy
As for me, I am doing a lot better! I feel great and confident to say that I am officially back online! With a lot of support from Florbe (who I love so dearly) I was able to swallow my fear of showing my face again. Many Thanks to her also a shout out to Pelissa She is a sweetheart and I've known of her since the beginning of the Avengers/Thorki fandom so a lot of my works are inspired by her. Her and Florbe! Such lovely ladies!
Anyways, I hope to submit awesome stuff soon! It's summer and I want to shower you all with Summer themed AU's!

A poem I found on this computer (at school)(Okay I have no idea if someone at my school wrote this or if it's written by an actual author or what, but I found this poem saved to a computer at school and I feel the need to share it.
Maybe I shouldn't without the writer's permission, if it was a student, but they saved it to the computer, so I figure it's probably fine.
If they find out I'm posting it here and want me to take it down, I of course will do so. But I just want to post it because I think it's beautiful.
In the silence that occurs before the sunrise
When I awoke
The Sun had not yet risen
And the stars shone like clear-white eyes in the velvet of the heavens –
Pinpricks in a depthless-blue void
And I stopped to hold my breath and press myself to the window
Like the body of a lover
To feel the crystal-clear cold seep through the glass to my bone
I was alone
There was no hint of day and I cherished it
My own private Universe
A room and hallway all unto myself
And a window to the wild empty world
Best Weekend of My Life...! How Fast a Year GoesSo, a few of you on here know this already, but a lot don't.
This isn't due to me wanting to keep this a secret, not at all actually, just that it's difficult sometimes to figure out when and how to tell people something that's such a big deal to you, like this was.
I will stop being cryptic very soon. I promise.
Okay. So this time last year, if we're going by date and pretending that the time here is the time in Las Vegas, I would've been standing downstairs in this awesome little exclusive club in the Hard Rock Hotel. One of my best friends, Jo, standing beside me, and my leg is pressed up against the tiny stage.
Watching Grant Morrison, James Dewees, and Gerard Way giving a one off performance.
This time last year, the best weekend of my life was just kicking off.
I should probably back track a bit and explain, huh?
The event was MorrisonCon, a convention celebrating the work of Grant Morrison (some of you guys will know him as Korse from the Danger Days videos )
Thank you, My Chemical RomanceThis is yet another one of those other millions of journals saying goodbye and going sentimental and dramatic that willl pop up in your inbox. Feel free to ignore; I only need to vent out the goodbye.
Anyway...I'm quite speechless and, at the same time, with a thousand things to say.
The first time I knew about My Chemical Romance...was around 2006/2007. I was around 10 years old. I usually spent the time at my brother's room, and he usually had the TV on MTV as this programme where they played the most wanted 10 musical videos of the week.
Every day and week, between the first places, there was this song that I loved. I liked the singer as soon as I saw him, even if I was a child; 'he's not ugly', I remember I thought because I was too shy to say 'He's handsome'. He was this vampire-like pale guy of black hair that sang in a church, whose girlfriend (or so it seemed at the time) had died and it was her funeral.
Then, another video joined after some weeks. I didn't recognize the face,
SnowflakesIt’s really interesting when you figure out you’re not special. When you realize that everyone else romanticizes the past, fantasizes impossible scenarios, cries tears of anger, laughs at inside jokes, and can deliver sass and sarcasm just like you. I’ve realized that I actually am extremely self-centered, and that that’s just the basic nature of every single person ever, because we dwell, primarily, inside our own heads. We’re all lonely. We’re all trying so fucking hard. I’m right and I’m wrong; I’m unique, just like everyone else. There are some things I am so passionate about that my eyes light up and my hands make weird, flip-floppy gestures and my voice rises twelve octaves; and then there are some things I’m learning not to take myself so seriously with.
I’m not delivering this as some kind of profound statement to, I don’t know, inspire your poetry or whatever. This is literally just me speculating a
The Art of DystopiaSci-fi dystopia art is one of my favorite things on DA. The amount of detail is incredible, and you feel like you’re actually looking into a future world. It’s easy to get lost in these drawings. With the Killjoy comic coming out, I thought it would be fun to feature some of this incredible art. It might influence the way you imagine Battery City.
